About ISAMN

The 7th International Symposium on Advanced Materials and Nanostructures, to be held in Sorocaba, Brazil, from 20 to 23 of May, 2012, is being organized by the Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciência e Tecnologia de Materiais (POSMAT) - Unesp - Bauru, UFSCar - Sorocaba and Instituto de Física de São Carlos, USP.

This symposium, whose first edition took place at the Universidad de Chile, Santiago, in 2006, has been conceived to primarily foster international cooperation in research and development of materials. It had as starting point collaboration projects with research groups in Brazil, Chile, Canada and Spain, under the sponsorship of CNPq and Capes (Brazil), CONYCIT (Chile), NSERC (Canada) and MECD (Spain). The following editions were held in Brazil, Chile and Mexico.

In this 7th edition, invited lectures will be delivered by more than 20 renowned researchers from several countries, in addition to those initially involved in the cooperation programs. A poster session will also allow students and other researchers to discuss their results, with the main focus in establishing new links among the participants. The symposium will cover a broad range of topics, from nanostructures to bioinspired architectures, featuring state-of-the-art theoretical as well as experimental developments.
